Eligibility to Vote – Membership in Good Standing

Dear CUPE 1004 members,

To be eligible to participate in the upcoming Union elections as a voter or candidate, the CUPE Constitution requires members to have signed an application for membership and for applications to be approved at the next General Membership Meeting.

Many years ago, all of the records were destroyed in a fire, and the information was lost so we now must rebuild the records. If you did not receive an email from the Union regarding your status, or if the email you received asked you to fill out an online application, please take a couple of minutes to fill out a card by following the link in the email or by clicking here.

We want to take great care to ensure that the vote is inclusive, that the National Constitution and Bylaws are followed to the very best of our ability, and to ensure that any issues are corrected through better systems you can use into the future.

The union’s bylaws outline criteria for maintaining membership in good standing and eligibility for participation in union activities. A list of members reapplying to become Members in Good Standing will be presented at the next General Membership Meeting. This list will include anyone who already has a union card on file and those who submit an application for membership in good standing up to Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

Notice of elections and nomination period will be communicated following the General Membership Meeting.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

In solidarity,

Rob Limongelli
CUPE Local 1004 Administrator
